Vitória Stone Fair Delayed
VITÓRIA, Brazil – The Vitoria Stone Fair won’t be opening its doors here this month.
Show organizer Milanez & Milaneze, along with sponsoring associations – decided in late January to delay the major Brazilian hard-surfaces event until sometime later this year.
The organizers noted in a Jan. 27 statement that the postponement of the event, slated for Feb. 15-19, is “based on the current scenario of the dissemination of the ômicron variant and the impact on visitation and security of the event.
“Aware of the importance of Vitória Stone Fair for the ornamental stone market, we are already working to announce a new date soon, meeting the demand of the sector and the world calendar of fairs.”
Milanez & Milaneze made the decision in concert with its association sponsors – Sindirochas (Union of Ornamental Stone, Lime and Limestone Industries of the State of Espírito Santos), Centrorochas (Brazilian Center of Ornamental Stone Exporters) and Cetemag (Marble and Granite Technological Center).
“We, like all of you, are looking forward to being able to meet in person again and will work to make the next edition as successful as possible for all parties involved,” the statement concluded.
The postponement marked the third time in five years that the event’s dates were changed. Organizers canceled last year’s Vitória Stone Fair due to pandemic travel problems, and the 2017 event moved from February to June following civic unrest in Vitória earlier that year.
