2020 Xiamen Stone Fair Moves to October
XIAMEN, China – This year’s China Xiamen International Stone Fair is now set for Oct. 27-30.
Show organizers also announced today that a new online platform for the event would debut in June, and that next year’s show will be later than usual.
This year’s landmark 20th-anniversary event, originally scheduled for March, was postponed in January due to the outbreak of Covid-19. Organizers initially rescheduled the show for early June, although they took the action before the virus became a worldwide pandemic.
“Xiamen Stone Fair has been monitoring the global situation closely,” noted a statement from event organizers “From what we have been going through in China, we believe that with joint efforts, the pandemic will be controlled and prevented soon around the world.
“To ensure that, it has now become necessary to keep waiting until the dawn is breaking.”
In the interim, organizers will launch Cloud Xiamen Stone Fair as an upgraded service and a warm-up for the October event.
The online platform, set to debut June 6, will give exhibitors a digital showcase for products and the ability to network with partners and start early-stage negotiations.
The analog event’s move to this October also led organizers to reset 2021’s show. The 21st edition will be held on May 18-21, 2021.
The Xiamen show is traditionally held shortly after the Spring Festival season that celebrates the Lunar New Year. The delay for 2021 is designed to give exhibitors and attendees more time to prepare after this year’s delayed event.
The China Xiamen International Stone Fair is the world’s largest hard-surface trade event, Last year’s show drew 150,520 professional visitors.
