• Eagle Rock Products, Phoenix, introduces the EagleEYE Tool Setter, a digital-alignment device for easy and quick positioning of tools on a CNC machine.
The device, which works with all CNC brands, uses a high-resolution camera device to capture images of an entire CNC tool, and then superimposes the images together to quickly and easily show how to exactly line them up for minimum wear and maximum polish.
The patent-pending device offers a fast, highly accurate and foolproof method of tool setup – what used to take more than four hours can be done in less than a half-hour with more precision (less than one thousandth of an inch). It’s possible to dial in exact removal rates, using an intuitive, seven-step software that’s easy to learn and use.
The tool setter also aids in assessing tool wear periodically to preserve tool life and insure quality polish results, saving money and time with continual use of the tool.
The setting device itself is about the size of a mailbox (10” X 11” X 18”) and includes a 10” touch-control tablet. The tool setter is totally portable; after setting the tools, the device can be stored in a safe location away from the production area.
