Matrix Stone Products Closes

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. – Matrix Stone Products, a manufacturer of bridge saws and other fabrication equipment since 1990, is out of business.

A brief email from Dennis Peterson, one of the company’s founders, went out to industry contacts today announcing the closure.

“Due to the current national economic climate, MATRIX STONE PRODUCTS regretfully must cease all manufacturing and support operations,” read the full text of the email.

Co-founders Peterson and Joseph Harari began manufacturing equipment in a garage, according to the company’s Website, and grew it into one of the few companies manufacturing major stone-fabrication equipment in the United States. Among the company’s better-known products are the Sebring© bridge saw and the Daytona© XL edger.

In the past year, it also introduced the Supra programmable bridge saw.

Within the past few weeks, however, the company had adopted a lower profile. Once a staple at stone-industry trade shows, Matrix didn’t appear at last month’s StonExpo/Marmomacc Americas event in Las Vegas.
