Cosentino Revises Corporate Structure

CANTORIA, Spain – There’s going to be a new name as CEO for Cosentino next week … but it’s still going to be a Cosentino.

Pilar Cosentino will become the new CEO on April 14, according to a report at Spain’s FocusPiedra.

The Spanish surfaces company’s board of directors appointsd Pilar Cosentino, 46, in a planned generational-change strategy. Current CEO Francisco Martínez-Cosentino, 73, will continue to serve as president of the company in a management structure separating the functions of the president and CEO.

Since joining Cosentino more than 20 years ago, Pilar Cosentino joined the company more than two decades ago. Her work included leading the strategy, talent-management, digital-transformation, and technology areas.

She holds a degree in law and corporate legal consulting from the Universidad Pontifica Comillas (ICADE) and an MBA from the Instituto de Empresa. She is also a member of the board of directors of the Instituto de la Empresa Familiar (Family Business Institute) and received numerous awards as an entrepreneur and executive.

Eduardo Cosentino, 42, will become the company’s sole executive vice president, incorporating the Marketing & Digital Business, Expansion and Pricing areas along with continuing as CEO of Cosentino North America .

He also serves as board chairman of the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) and promotes bilateral trade relations between Spain and the United States as vice president of the Spain-US Chamber of Commerce.

Álvaro de la Haza becomes corporate general manager, reporting to the president, a role he will combine with managing the Family Office.

FocusPiedra also reports that the company is creating a Steering Committee that will act as a coordinating body for management, supporting the CEO in the performance of her duties. The Steering Committee will include the CEO, president and executive vice president, along with  global vice presidents responsible for supply chain (Julio Martín); manufacturing (Alberto Quevedo); R&D, product, and quality (Valentín Tijeras); EMEA xales (Pedro Parra); finance (Julian Edwards); and people (Paco Robles).
